3D Prototyping for Adaptive Design
Beyonce in a box is a cause and effect motor skills learning toy that was developed as a group project for the Assistive Technology (AT) class at NYU. The original concept was designed by Alex Truesdell, an Occupational Therapist, who is also the founding director of Adaptive Design Association (ADA). Alex was keen to develop this toy for children so that they could learn functional hand skills through manipulation and exploration. By activating the attached switches, the children will receive motivating feedback in the form of their favorite music that can be added to any switch by the adult operating the corresponding music playing app.
